LOGLINE:
Wonder Well is the story of a simple- minded, homeless man whose destiny leads him to New England to see the beautiful Autumn colors. He discovers much more, a gift that imparts miraculous healing powers.

SYNOPSIS: In the city of Detroit, a young, lovable and bright-eyed Caucasian boy is sold into slavery by his drug-addicted mother. In an attempt to escape, the child is left partially paralyzed, permanently disfigured and abandoned. G.I., an African-American street person, raises the boy he calls PRINCE as his own. Prince matures into an affable and personable young man. But, his world comes to a sudden halt when his “father" is struck by a car. G.I. parts from this world after whispering his 'last request' to his son: travel to Maine in the fall to see the changing of the leaves.

Ruggle’s mineral mine in New Hampshire will serve as the Wonder Well cave, with the aid of computer generated special effects (CGI).

Having never ventured on his own before, let alone to another state, Prince lands in Maine discombobulated but hopeful. He can't even cross a street on his own (literally) if it weren't for the unexpected assistance of trauma surgeon SHIRLEY HOOVER and her amiable British husband, GREG, a geologist and university professor.

Just when the Hoovers thought their good deed was behind them, Prince is corralled by police officers. Shirley intervenes once again to save Prince. She drives him North and becomes immediately drawn to him. Shirley is haunted by a recurring nightmare involving the accidental shooting of her baby brother. In a peculiar fashion, Shirley sees her baby brother through the eyes of Prince. Based on a drawing by G.I., Prince guides Shirley to a location where he vanishes into the wilderness--leaving Shirley scratching her head with befuddlement.

Constantly talking to himself, Prince enjoys the beauty of a valley. He follows a bird to a granite mountain where a cave is discovered. Inside the cave is an enchanting well. Another VOICE appears in Prince's head. This voice informs Prince that the well is a gift to believers. This voice requests Prince to make the cave his home.
Prince links with the Hoovers again while shopping in the nearest town. There, he saves a little girl named MINDY from certain death when she's struck by a truck while riding her bicycle. Unfortunately, the accident leaves Mindy in a precarious coma. The circumstance rewards Prince with a tighter Hoover relationship. The Hoovers even allow Prince to stay with them in their home. Shirley sets it upon herself to somehow help Prince. Greg, on the other hand, becomes the first person Prince invites to the well. Totally awed by the remarkable discovery, Greg later learns that the well is responsible for alleviating a life-long aggravating crimp in his neck. There is certainly more to this well than meets the eye. And Greg doesn't hesitate to contact his mentor, DR. JASON MEAD, to help further explore this natural wonder. Greg relentlessly invites Shirley to see the well; an offer she consistently rejects. Shirley has other notions to tend to: the status of her patient, Mindy, and, the self-anointed crusade to help the mentally and physically handicapped Prince.

Shirley becomes distraught when the hospital executives decide Mindy needs to be transported to a bigger and more technically advanced hospital. And since Shirley is troubled by the decision, so becomes Prince. In the middle of the night, Prince removes Mindy from the hospital and takes her to his cave. A miraculous healing of Mindy results! But Prince's actions cause uproar within the hospital ranks. He is apprehended, drugged and placed into solitary medical confinement. A board meeting decides his fate and he is to be promptly transported to a larger hospital to undergo stringent evaluations and examinations.

Greg and Shirley argue amongst themselves over the fate of Prince as well as Shirley's negation of faith. Shirley later approaches Greg with a devised plan to spring Prince from the hospital and return him to his cave. With law enforcers on their tail, a disastrous ending is imminent. Faith and the powers of the Wonder Well will receive their most challenging test yet!
