1200: United we remeMberA WWII Veterans Documentary Series
1200: A WWII Veterans Documentary Series, is a reality show meets documentary film, highlighting an endangered generation – our surviving WWII veterans. 1200 is NOT just another WWII documentary focusing on the seemingly endless battles and casualties of this epic war. 1200 focuses on the human element. As in the heartfelt storylines of HBO’s The Alzheimer’s Project, each one hour episode of 1200 follows three distinctly unique WWII veterans on their personal journey to reach Washington D.C. and their monument. Some vets travel alone. Some amongst family. Some are men. Some women. Some are black. Some white. Some are handicapped. Some will not finish the journey. All battle old age and an impending fate, but each has a story to tell almost sixty years in the making. Through each of them, their friends and loved ones, we will come to know a pride and patriotism in a generation that has not seen the likes since. And while each of these stories is undoubtedly unique, their climatic and gut-wrenching goal is one in the same…to remember…
Through 1200’s cameras we will remember and we will experience WWII in this fresh, new reality-style adventure through a historically documented world. We will re-live the grit and danger of these heroic lives. We will see the chaos of war through their eyes. We will feel their anguish, frustration, elation and pride through their voices. This is our chance to hear their last words… before it’s too late. Honor Flight, a non-profit organization that flies our WWII veterans AND terminally ill veterans from any war to visit their respective memorials will be highlighted in various episodes. Honor Flight is committed to preserving the inspirational stories of our nations remaining WWII veterans for future generations via 1200. Sen. Bob Dole, Gen. Colin Powell, Sen. John McCain and the Dept. of Veteran Affairs all support the organization. And recently, one of the founding members of Honor Flight traveled with President Obama and dignitaries to Normandy. Honor Flight is truly a modern symbol of patriotism and BBE/ZTE are honored to work with the organization.
BBE has partnered with award‐winning Zep Tepi Entertainment (ZTE) to co‐produce and co-direct 1200.
